SOUTH DAKOTA

South Dakota has semi-open and closed primaries. Only voters registered with the Republican Party may only vote in that party's primary. Voters registered with the Democratic Party and unaffiliated voters may vote in the Democratic Primary. If you decide to change your party affiliation, you must update your voter registration by completing a voter registration form, then mail or return to your County Auditor by 5/20/24. Online registration is currently not available.
