Either way, have your say.
Tired of the extremists always winning elections? Us too. We are party switchers. We change our political party in every primary to vote for the best mainstream candidates regardless of party. Yes sometimes we vote in the Democratic primary and sometimes we vote in the Republican primary. We care more about the Country than we do about our political party.
You have the right to switch parties as many times as you want. Party switching is not just a campaign, it’s a rebellion against politics as usual.
Because our politicians need to be reminded that every vote matters, you should become a Party Switcher and put your foot down in the primaries. It's super easy to do; we have compiled all the info you need for each state, DC, and Puerto Rico on this website. You're welcome.
About Party Switcher
Okay everyone, we all know that there is a deepening political divide in the U.S., and this divide is jeopardizing civil discourse and long-term stability. The problem is that as people prioritize party loyalty over the country's collective well-being, political parties are pushed away from the center towards extreme views, sidelining moderates in either party and leaving independents entirely out of the conversation when platforms are decided. That means that the 40% of Americans who identify as independent and willing to vote for the most qualified candidate irrespective of party, have no part in defining what a qualified candidate is.
Our current system limits the impact of independents in primaries, with only a few states allowing cross-party voting. And reforms like rank-choice voting face challenges or impractical non-solutions like starting a third party may have long-term positive effects. But we need to effect change now.
We can solve this. We have always had the right. All voters, of any party, including non-affiliated independents, can easily change their political affiliations to vote in primary elections. We all need to take a seat at the table and engage in our political process. Stop waiting for the final election to make a choice, usually between two candidates who appealed to the partisan ideas of their particular party best. Stop saying there is nothing you can do. Make your vote count by taking the practical, individual-driven approach of becoming a primary season Party Switcher. You, along with your fellow Americans, are tired of politics being pushed away from the greater good towards the demands of a loud minority, and you can have an immediate impact on the current presidential primary.
In the long term, we can show that a large percentage of Americans don’t want extremist candidates or party platforms built with the primary goal of being anything the other party isn’t. Because we as people all share the same basic hopes, the greatest among them our hope for the future. Our future, and the country we everyday are working to build for our children.
